仕方がない

shikata ga nai is basically the japanese version of "it is what it is". a good example of this quote in japanese art is the great wave off kanagawa. the wave depicts the brutality and strength of nature. yet, the humans on the ship is also shown to be competiting or complying with the wave. the wave will not deter or stop trying to overboard the humans, so the humans have to navigate as it is and contend with this great wave. it's the inner strength to overcome obstacles such as the wave. in the golden age of content, where everything, everyone, and everywhere can be accessed through a digital device, a lot of people are indulging and trapped within this wave of endless dopaminergic content. i want to show grit and challenge this great wave of content. i acknowledge the wave is there, but there's power in my control to supress the urge for constant consumption. i've stepped away from all social medias and isolated myself from my friends on social medias. in my heart, there's more to life than constantly communicating and watching short form videos through a device. letting go of my self identity and social life is extremely difficult but being constantly trapped deters me from improving as a person. i want to be a creator, not a consumer.
